Horizon

Today I am lost, dreaming of wide open spaces and the wild, wild sea.
I am stuck inland, as the day grows hot and the winds whip the ground,
Leaves dance a season before their time.
It is the start of the working week  and the water is beckoning me to places far away,
Memories of escape from a life that has become a race.
The ocean knows no competition, its power is unique
To my mind  that is captured by the distant horizon.
