What joy! During our recent holiday my number four child ran home to tell me she had caught a fish. A real fish. She was snuggly clad in her wetsuit, a smile on her face from ear to ear. Good friends had taken the kids on their new boat and spent a short time looking for a good catch. There was enough flathead to fillet and eat as an entree. Lightly dusted in flour, seasoned, pan fried in butter and drizzled with lemon. Fabulous. She was so proud to have caught a fish, but reluctant to eat it. Dr Seuss never fails to hook the odd fish though!
It is late and we have all returned from the annual school concert. After weeks of rehearsals it was a real buzz to see the kids performing. Jakob as ringmaster, Madeleiene as Cinderella and Isabella as a fish from Little Mermaid. It was all so colourful and ablaze with energy, music and fun. And at the end of the night Jake and Maddy received school “Semper Sursum” awards. Well done all three of you!
