If you have been reading along lately there is a theme of domestic strain emerging in the everyday. Parenting is hard work. Domestic kindness is hard work. The daily grind can be unforgiving. And yet we are called to keep calm and carry on. I found Rachel Jankovic’s reflection on loving in the ‘little’ years a helpful reminder of where we have all been, or may still be. Knee deep in the trenches of motherhood. Whilst you may have moved in from dirty nappies and crying babies I can assure you that adolescence brings with it its own dirt and loud noises! Whatever our season, we are mothers for life and we need all of the grace we can get.
