An Act of proclamation

I have been reading Acts lately and have been struck by several things.

The early church was full of struggles and blessings.

God was using unlikely characters to proclaim His words to the world.

There were many healings and miracles happening BUT each faithful person continued to PREACH God’s word.

This is a great encouragement to me because I often get side tracked wanting something BIG to happen here amongst the Christian community. I long for God to act and bring about revival of those hard hearts and minds. But it is not all about miracles, smoke and mirrors. It is about His word being proclaimed.

I listened to a fabulous Mark Driscoll sermon from the recent Text and Context conference. His title was “Putting Preachers in their Place“.

Listen to Driscoll and you will be encouraged to put preaching back on the agenda.
